What does subtraction do ?

Subtraction is used to find the difference between two groups of objects.
Thousand Hundreds Tens  Ones
        2        3         4         5
-       1            2      3    4  
3 hundreds - 2 hundreds
= 1 hundreds.
2 thousand - 1 thousand
= 1 thousand
2345 take away 1234 leaves 1111
Subtraction without regroup.
Example :   Subtract 1234 from 2345 = 1111
Note : When you have not enough, you have to borrow  from the one next to you.  Every time you borrow it is always 1 tens
